The fact that this poor boy seems to have come to harm at the hands of his mother while being known to the social services has nothing to do with the social services, and everythjng to do with the mother. To even think otherwise or seek to put the blame for it on well meaning professionals is hugely out of order imho, and has got my back up.

Think you have misconstrued my comments. I'm not blaming ss for his death, he appears to have died T the hands of his mother which is tragic. But ss are supposed to protect children in danger from this?

At any one time there are tens of thousands of children who are potentially at risk from harm.

The vast majority are kept relatively safe - partly due to the hard work of social workers.

It is not feasible for all children at risk to be kept away from risk - as I said in a previous post we would need thousands of Childrens Homes to be built across the country to achieve this aim.

So are you saying there aren't enough social workers? It's a case of funding?

Yes of course, your right. We should have a dedicated social worker living in every house on their case load. My mistake.

She is an ill-informed idiot mate.
You may as well discuss social care with your kettle.
I'm out of here, before this clown gets me banned.

There are not enough social workers and social work resources to provide the level of risk management that you are suggesting.

Oh, you could do with a holiday, a bit of R&R to get the creative juices flowing again, you seem to have tailed off of late. Plus GDM has a plan to install himself as head of pun-ditry in your absence. ;)

Unfortunately I'm not ill-informed or without experience of social services having had to deal with them in connection with my mum who is suffering from Alzheimers they have been unhelpful, bullying and complain continually about funding. And you NF can be very ignorant and opinionated I suggest you realise that you are not always right and people may not always agree with you. Having a different opinion based on personal experience is allowed and you should accept that fact and not resort to childish name calling

Either contribute something useful to the debate or fuck off, because I am sick of dealing with idiots on this joke of a forum.

Christ, you sound like you need your own social worker.
