That is possibly as sad as the little boy's death itself. 4 other little children effectively without their mother.

With respect, four children being placed temporarily into local authority care is nowhere near as sad as a three year old being murdered.
I'll pop back in the unlikely event that the thread takes a sensible turn.

yeah but to be fair its more than just being placed in temporary care, they also have to live with the fact their own mother killed their brother and that is very sad
The grandmother and her 2nd husband (the first died) are still in the area as well as her sister and the father of the first 3 lives just a few doors away in Edinburgh. Although the sister was living at the house where the lad was found so she may be out of the loop they do have plenty of family here so not necessarily in the system yet.
My son was in the same class at school as the mother, pretty horrible to be sure.

Yes it is, but not as sad as being brutally murdered, which was the comparison made.
I just feel like common sense has passed this thread by, so I'll leave you to it.

Has it been mentioned on the news who is looking after the rest of her children? They must be very frightened and worried about what is going on :(

Social workers have probably arranged for them to be taken into care :(

Unbelievable

I said possibly. There's nothing anyone can do for him but those other little ones won't know where their mother is or what's happening. I'm looking at it from their point of view.

According to the one of the tabloids it was the fault of the social workers. So there you have it folks,a child gets murdered by one of its parents, blame the social workers.Win,win.

Rewind three pages - we had this earlier.
Were you not aware that social workers with a huge caseload are expected to spend 24 hours a day with one at-risk child?

No one can protect a child if the parent intends to kill them
Social workers should not take all the blame all the time
If there were gaps in care then that is a different matter but we don't know the whole story yet so shouldn't judge anyone except for the mother

I've never understood this blame culture we live in. I could understand if social services have missed vital signs of child abuse on numerous occasions that they should be held accountable. However for a parent, especially a mother to harm their children must go against every maternal instinct. These low life scum who harm their children are 100% to blame.
