Huntingdon Train Incident - Reports of multiple stabbings

Two British nationals arrested but that's only been confirmed after 12 hours of wanton racist speculation about it being from "small boat people", all from the usual suspects on the usual websites. Even now it's been confirmed that the two attackers were British nationals, Tommy Robinson is sharing content that suggests he "refuses to believe the lies".

All last night you had blue-ticked right-wing accounts on Twitter, screaming in capital letters that the stabbing had been "confirmed as a terrorist incident" and that "the attackers were shouting Allahu Akbar". Now it turns out there was no terrorist element (within legal definitions) and that the attackers aren't asylum seekers from small boats.

We are living in dangerous, dangerous times. It was the same after the Southport attack, when a fake Asian/Muslim name was leaked to the press by a website in Pakistan, and nobody knows who did it - only the website it came from. A nationwide riot in the UK, all caused by somebody making a stupid online comment 3,000 miles away.

Social media is a cancer. The police and authorities need to be allowed to do their jobs, but we have online vigilantes flooding the zone with speculation and misinformation about ongoing, developing incidents. If they name the attacker quickly, it's a conspiracy to harm whites; if they don't name the attacker quickly, it's a conspiracy to protect Asians.

And there will be people on the left reveling in the fact that it's a British national, too. It's one thing to feel relieved that it's not an asylum seeker - for fear of more mass violence on our streets and more angry protests at hotels - but it's another thing to point and laugh and tease at the other side. All of it is in bad faith and it's getting us nowhere.
Mate I’m not trying to detract from your well thought out post in any way, but social media is not a cancer. Cancer is cancer.

The world is a mess mate but I only at this stage give a fuck about my kids future and safety. It’s even infiltrating the Isle of Man currently and the latest battle was that to avoid upsetting a certain demographic that the hospital over here may not put up a Christmas tree this year? So yet again what we have done for years has to change? Why?

Well, firstly, aren't lucky to be born on a land where you're afforded the luxury of your kids having some safety and a future.

Secondly, since you're reporting the phrase "Christmas trees aren't allowed", who's stating this? Is it the mysterious "immigrants" who have only just been in the country a short while or the liberal minded management thinking and acting for said "mysterious immigrants" who may never have asked for such a thing??

Go on, gimme a clue...

I don’t care what other people call them, or their motives, if someone engages in random acts of terror against innocent people, fuck the we cannot call them that .. in my book they are terrorists and should be treated as such.

It’s a technicality though mate. If the motivation is to promote a position (white rights, black rights, Palestine action, Irish freedom, green issues, etc etc) it’s terrorism. If it’s a couple of nutters on the loose who were live streaming it on tik tok, or wanted to become infamous, etc etc it’s attempted or actual murder.

At this stage the police have enough evidence (or lack evidence) to say it was not ideologically motivated. The good news is if it’s just a couple of nutters the left and right can still argue the toss about cause and effect.

Isn't it something to do with the Nationality Law or something. Being British means you were born in Britain to a British parent, being British by descent means you were born out of the country but are British because one of your parents was British?
I think in this case it probably means that one was born here, to british born parents, the other, also born here, but maybe one or more of the prents were born in the Caribbean.

To add to that, it's not a matter of what we "can or can't" call something. It's about what is actually useful when it comes to categorising and measuring crimes.

If, as some are suggesting, random stranger on stranger acts of violence are terrorist attacks, regardless of motive - whether political, some mental health issue or whatever... then what we're saying is basically every stranger on stranger crime is a terrorist attack. Okay fine, but how is that at all useful? We now simply have less specific information available to us to actually do something about it.

We have just increased the number of terrorist incidents massively, and rather than the authorities focusing on crimes that are part of organised activity from politically motivated groups that have a particular root cause, they are now dealing with some vast swathe of causes and motivations because they have to treat everything as an act of terror whether it's a football hooligan, a gang crime, a pensioner having a bad day or some ISIS sleeper cell.

The categorisation of this stuff is the way it is for a reason. It's to (theoretically at least) make us safer, by giving police greater focus and powers when political and ideological motivations are the root cause as the nature of that category of crimes is very different.

I suppose it’s how you define nutters. Without wishing to offend anyone, if it’s the old school it’s highly unlikely that more than one person would flip simultaneously so common sense would say the two of them were following a similar cause. Whether the racial profile of the victims when released will throw any light, either pointing to or eliminating a particular aspect/cause remains to be seen.

Trying to understand the logistics of this incident. The train was Doncaster to King’s Cross and was stopped unofficially at Huntingdon. Where would the last official stop have been before it was diverted? Would there have been other planned stops between that point and King’s Cross?
Doncaster and Huntigdon are both on the East Coast main line, so the train wasn't diverted, it just made an unscheduled stop.
The train probably started its' journey further north than Doncaster (Edinburgh?) with Doncaster being its' last booked stop before KGX.

These incidents are becoming almost common place now. Something has to be done to try and tackle knives on the streets. I wouldn't object to stop and search wih mandatory custodial sentences for carrying knives in a public place AND proper custodial sentences with no 50% or more reductions for 'good' behaviour. We need a proper program to increase prison capacities and fill them.

The only problem with this is that 'stop and search' is always very skewed and targeted for certain demographics in cities.

Not a problem if this FAIRLY enacted.

Britain has gone to the dogs. England in particular is a complete cesspit. The major cities are all totally lost, most resembling third world countries.

Anyone who says that it was 'just as bad in the past' is a deluded fucking idiot. There is no hope for Britain under any government.

Europe needs a war.
Oh, fuck off.

Yes, I acknowledged that it was not 'diverted' in a subsequent post. I was unaware that trains ran from Doncaster to London King's Cross without stopping, though. Thank you.

Eyewitness accounts are harrowing.

Assuming this is parody?

Apparently the train also called at Peterbro' as posted previously.

And the right scream we are in some lawless hellscape. Which is just as bad as suggesting there isn’t a problem that needs addressing.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Far too many people are being influenced by bad actors controlling social media bots, Germany was hit with them a lot. Millions of posts by thousands of bots. Hundreds of videos and articles a week being generated with the express intention of trying to make it seem worse than it is, 1 to make it seem better in Russia for the locals there and 2 to spread the feeling that we have more problems than we do and to “concentrate on fixing local problems and forget Ukraine”

Thousands of bots, millions of posts, hundreds of videos and articles a month all to stir up shit in western countries and they are well and truly in action here.

Keep this in mind when reading social media. Odds are what you are reading is trying to manipulate. If everyone looked at social media as a place where we can be easily manipulated we would all be far better off.

This video explains how it works on a psychological level.

Note. This isn’t specifically aimed at you but your post was a good launching point for it.

Self quote. And as if by magic my social feeds have gone from computer tech/programming/games/DIY to immigrants causing trouble around Europe.

Quite a few clearly AI generated.

I read posts like yours, and don't recognise the place you describe, and wonder if all a lot of people just sit at home reading social media.

Granted I'm not living in a City, largish very ethnically diverse town though (white/black/muslim/far east), I've just been out for an hour on foot, I don't see any tensions anywhere between anyone. Yes there's poverty in pockets, there's crime here, there are drugs, there are some gangs even, but mostly people are just getting on with normal life.

There will be firework parties in the next few days attended by all communities no doubt.

Then I read threads like this (and others), and wonder where some of the opinions come from, because I just don't see it.

Its pathetic isnt it?

You’ve got a photo of Yaxley-Lennon as your phone background, haven’t you?

Also, this call for war bollocks you’re talking about, will you be signing up? If so, what’s your plan? If not, why not?
