I once read, whether it's true or not, that the "seeding ground" for most hurricanes, is a moist valley in the Cape Verde islands in the South Atlantic. This moist air is blown off-shore by the Trade winds, and more moisture is picked up as it crosses the Atlantic. The barometric pressure in the centre drops, and the air begins to rotate, and becomes self-feeding.
As I said,how true this is, I haven't a clue. If it is true, nuke the valley to the ground. Job sorted!
Just watched a weather lady on MSNBC say roughly the same thing!!
Watching the reporters say they're leaving in a couple of hours means it's serious!!
They're usually the goons that risk it!!
