I knew a guy who lived in the area around Biloxi when Katrina hit. He told me a story of swimming through water teeming with snakes to rescue his wife's wedding ring. Chilled me to the bone.

My mate lives in Galveston and he's just been doing Facebook live from his balcony, saying there's a lot of fear mongering as it's fairly calm. Still early days isn't it?

One place in America i have not visited yet i dearly wish to. Mainly for the grub, they have some fantastic cultural fusion that shows in the food as much as any other facet.

We survived tropical storm Andrea in 2013 does that count, 10 bottles of bud around the pool closed that villa up tight and woke up in the morning with a lot of puddles and palm leaves about.

Oh. I hope he's listening to the advice. This storm is going to kill a lot of stupid people. And even some clever ones. When you said, fear mongering, I thought, oh fuck, we have a science denier. Not listening could be dangerous.

Well, it is that part of the world where Jesus lives and some folks decide to trust in him. Even though under that logic it was that **** who caused it.

Anyway hope he and everyone else gets through it, with nothing more than exciting tales of houses floating by. Other people's obviously.
