Hurricane Ian hit Florida Wednesday 28th Sep !

Is that the same one that is approaching Nova Scotia right now? My Canadian granddaughter is at University in Halifax NS and has battened down the hatches so to speak! She sent me a message to say they’d been out to buy flash lights and, in her words, a ‘bunch of food that won’t go bad’ and they are hoping it won’t flood. Hurricane Fiona
Good luck.

Can't be. The one about to hit Florida is currently flattening Puerto Rico and is 5 days from Florida.
Nova Scotia is 2000 miles away north of Florida on the Atlantic coast rather than Tampa on the Gulf of Mexico

Geography was the only GCE I failed!! :-)

My Granddaughter told me when she went to Uni that she would be closer to me in Eccles than her Mum and Dad in Vancouver and my mind boggled. This is me, who did a mini world tour but is still unsure of which is the Pacific and which is the Atlantic!!

Yours is the same one that another friend in Florida has just told me on another forum that she’s going out to stock up tomorrow for! Sorry.

It’s Fiona near Canada and Ian in the Caribbean.

@Mad Eyed Screamer when you look up in the sky as the eye passes over (assuming you make it through the front end), maybe you’ll see that Fernandes pen from some matches ago!

Stay safe mate!

It was nice knowing you all......
I've got 5 days left on Blue Moon and to listen to The Smiths & Morrissey.....
Petrol stations are emptying fast so heading north isn't an option (and where do I go anyway?) So just going to rough it out....
Been in Florida 7 years and this looks like the biggest hurricane to hit since then.....

This is the last thread I will ever start.....
To you all...... the pleasure, the privilage was mine......
Sounds like some lyrics from a Morrissy song ,how depressing
