Huw Edwards - 6 month suspended sentence (pg 107)

Oh and Jeremy Vine is a massive ****.

I’m sure being falsely accused on social media is horrible - and I have so much sympathy for people like Nicky Campbell who was one of the main people falsely accused - but everyone knew the name was going to come out pretty soon, and forcing a man who’s been hospitalised with a severe mental health crisis to make a public statement and bring even more hell down on him because you can’t just stay off social media for a week is fucking pathetic.

Everyone in the mainstream media was aware of who it was (and reportedly 1/4 of people on social media) so he wasn’t getting doorstepped or having media harass him, he just needed to close twitter.
You can be an absolute bellend sometimes. And a mild bully. You are an intelligent man, and I feel you someone’s abuse that gift. Plus, you’re intelligent, but not impressively so, and thereby your intellect is manifestly limited. Which renders your disposition on here to be little more than posturing.

But on issues like this, your judgement is usually very sound. You generally have a very good antenna for social mores and what is just, fair and apparent from observing those conventions.

I agree with the trust of what you’re saying, plus I feel it’s a disgrace how judgemental (and by extension, unforgiving) we have become as a society.

Utterly shameful.

Anyway, worst kept secret ever.

Yep my bad. I didn't know that he had been suffering for 20 years, I presumed he had just thrown it out there.
But what I don't understand is why everyone is pandering to the fact he's got depression, does that make what he has done more or less damaging to himself, his wife and everyone concerned?

Has he done what he's done because he's depressed or would he have done what he had done if he wasn't depressed?

That is what is making me shrug my shoulders and say.....and?
Sometimes depression and other factors can be a perfect storm. He is clearly not very well and letting his guard down. He isn't protecting himself in any way.

I think you need to look a little bit harder.
It covers a multitude of subjects, that’s what makes it so interesting.
Yes, but it still has nothing to do with freedom of speech. You’re only free to say and talk about what the sites owner allows you to say and speak about.

My sympathies lie with his wife and children.

You might have mental health issues but that doesn’t give you carte blanche to act like a tool. And unfortunately if you’re a high profile presenter, rightly or wrongly this stuff sells, incredibly naive to think you’re not going to get found out

I think it is probably because it wasn’t something that was in the public interest and shouldn’t have been bandied about by the slimy, slithering sun newspaper!
