Hyde United

There is no City game this weekend due to England playing San marino.

Hyde are at home as part of the "Non League Ground Hop Day"

They play Tamworth at 6.30pm at Ewen Field

For anyone interested in the 'ground hop' it includes Macclesfield at 12.30, then coach to Stockport for 330pm kickoff, then coach to Hyde for the 6.30pm kick off - according to the Hyde site you can pay £5 for the coach after the Macc game

More details here http://www.hydefc.co.uk/2012/10/non-league-day-cheshire-groundhop-this-weekend/

Hyde are offering half price entry to their game on Saturday at 630pm (v Tamworth) - for Premier League and Championship season ticket holders and Armed forces personell

I'm looking forward to the game on Monday at Maine Road FC too - it may only be the Manchester Premier Cup - but it's closer to my house than Hyde is :)

PS Note the Stockport game is at 330pm now for those attending all of them (or just the County game)

Hyde United were my local team growing up, but with moving to the city centre i pretty much forgot about them in a way. Ive just checked the website, as im gonna try and get to a few games ,and they seem to be now known as "Hyde FC", have they dropped the United?! Does anybody know why? My first instincy was that its because City pretty much saved them, they havnt even got a red home kit anymore!

Used to be some great derby games in the mid sixties between Hyde United and Stalybridge Celtic, (who had a decent team then) in the Cheshire League at Bower Fold.

Celtic players included Big John Higgins, Gary France and Billy o' Loughlin who was about 90 and unfortunately his false teeth kept falling out as he ran down the left wing.

My next door neighbour Ben Dennis just signed on loan for Hyde from Bolton. Played a few games. Anybody know how he is getting on?

The clue is in your first 4 words ! You could knock on his door and ask him !!

Mind you in todays weird world it would be easier to BBM him or tweet/text/semaphore him.

Hyde have now moved above Stockport in the Conference. I thought County were 'bigger' than City :) I hope they relegated to the Conference North.
