All sounds very similar to the situation at Malaga. Bought by Qatari prince Al Thani, promises of a new era ( training complex, stadium modernization, top players) The prince was / is really not interested and all the talk has left Malaga in the 2nd division and they missed out on the play offs.

Pep £547m gross spend over 3 seasons
Klopp £505m gross spend over 4 seasons.

I know Klopp took over in Jan of his first season but I think Firmino from Hoffenheim was a giveaway that he was always on the way. So we can add his fee at the very least and Benteke too IMO(since they would if it were us), that's where the bulk of their spending was that summer of 2015.

Due diligence, which has seen nothing of the kind, might take a little longer. Wonder what Uefa are currently setting up to prevent NUFC getting a foot in the door! The pillocks in Switzerland might think it's Juventus Reserves and wave 'em through!
