Martin O'Neill knows what he is doing. He also knows that Champions League qualification means far more to the club than chasing the UEFA Cup. I Hughes sacrificed the UEFA Cup for Champions League next season I'd be happy with that.
 
Didn't Twitcher do the same last week for Spurs? I wouldn't be happy if I forked out the money to get there to see the reserve side.
 
You could look at it as a choice between UEFA cup or Champions League, in terms of the finance needed to crack the top 4 long term, Champions League is far far more important than Uefa cup, for attracting players as well. If he has long term ambitions i can see the sense.
 
That's a joke. Don't want them representing England in the Champions League if they can't even be arsed to take the UEFA Cup seriously.

Agreed, I think it's a stupid decision though - and would do if City took this line. Competing on two fronts isn't impossible.
