Honestly don't see what all the confusion is about over this. There are TOO many games in all competitions now. Q: How mant games did it take City to win the ECWC in the 70's? A= 9!! To win UEFA this year would take 21 games, it's absolutely ludicrous and thats why it's being rationalised for next year. Is O'Neill a bad manager? Of course he isn't, the guy knows his stuff and with a small squad he needs to make priorities. Redknapp did the same with Spurs last week, because this week they have a cup final. Can you imagine the mess we'd be in with FA cup replays etc and trying to challenge in the Uefa as well? We have to play the same team every week, something would have to give. Only the top teams can challenge in all competitions, only they have enough strength in depth.
