Sorry Bill ( De Niro ) but I'm going to disagree with you here bud. I honestly do believe that Big Phil is better than Sturridge. Big Phil's work rate is better, he is scoring more goals when he appears and his heart seems to be in it more than the striker that has achieved fuck all yet requests more than Superman, appears lazy and arrogant and looks like he doesn't want to be here. He can have all the potential in the world but if he doesn't put himself about and doesn't get the goals or create them then what is his actual use? (Sturridges)

Big Phil has 7 in 12 games. I'd like to see Studge match that kind of form and I'd write off his ability to do so immediately on here though I'd support his efforts inside the stadium, naturally.

Oh, I'm not raving about him but what I am doing is drawing comparisons between Big Phil and Daniel Sturridge, the latter of which I am writing off as a City player as I believe he has played his last game for us and good luck to him wherever he goes because Sturridge does have the talent within him to be great but he's just not unleashed it and not stumped up the goods, where as Big Phil has.

Don't get me wrong - when Bojinov is 100% match fit and when he is scoring goals then I'd naturally expect that he would be Hughes first team starting selection but right now Phil is doing the business in front of goal and that deserves recognition, whether he is scoring a wonderstrike from 35 yards or whether he is toe poking it in from 2 yards.

Those labelling him 'The Next Goat' are far wide of the mark because The Goat was The Goat and there will never be another Goat, but what he does have (at least until the end of the season) is the chance to make his mark and stake his claim to be involved with Manchester City's exciting new adventure as of next season and I'm sure it's an opportunity many of the current playing staff do not want to miss.
