Hope he's OK. In mid 80s the Icicle Works were an incredible live band. I only see small new acts in Manc these days (Sweeping Promises at YES tomorrow night).

But then big bands do like to play the small ones. Even the guitarist from Foo Fighters did a solo tour in the small 500 capacity ones.I don't think anyone will disagree with the op but its simple.

It all depends on the size of the band and the show really a band like Rammstein wouldn't work at the academy or Apollo, only the Ao arena would work for them, same goes for the likes of Kiss , iron maiden ACDC Metallica which are too big for small arenas, on the other hand saw cannibal corpse at the Ritz and it was fucking brilliant in the mosh pit.
