Controversial maybe but heres my reasons

1. Complaining about a player before they have had a chance. Will we never learn? I could list players that have been questioned before they have played 10 games for the club but it would be pretty much everyone we have signed in the last 2 years.

2. Booing at half time and full time if we arent winning or havent won against "lesser" teams. Results like that happen. We are still on course for our highest ever finish. It doesnt help.

3. Knee jerk reactions, which I suppose is part of one and two, but a couple of bad results does not mean we need to think about changing managers.

I suspect the booing at HT and FT is always reserved for an incompetent ref or a team performance that has fallen below an acceptable standard. Shit poor, in other words. I agree with 1 and 3.

Not got a problem booing the ref if thats the case. However its not always the case. And added to this, a misplaced pass, which do happen are greated with a huge sigh if its a player who is not flavour of the month ie Barry or Yaya a couple of months ago.

I agree, I hate the booing, never have and never will boo the team no matter how shit we're doing.

I was as unhappy about yesterday as anyone, but I think we're going to have days like that. We've come a long way quickly and it will take a few season to really come together.

We need to learn to kill teams off and not let the foot off the gas, but I think this will come with time. Unfortunatly, time is one thing that a lot of fans don't have.

As was I, but no one just turns up at Birmingham and wins as the Rags can testify and they are ahead of the pack at the minute. I wonder what the reaction to their result was, I bet it wasnt anywhere near as drastic as on here.

People need to get the notion of winning the league out of their heads this year because they will be dissappointed - we need and I'm 90% certain we will get Champs league next year. Thats progress from last year and then we go again next year. There will be no wholesale signings from now on. Next year is the big one as long as we get top 4. A draw at Birmingham is not really a bad result.

It's just frustration mate. This will always happen at every football club in the world, it's not just reserved for city. I think it was last season or the season before Chelsea fans booed the team off for only winning 1-0.

Personally i always try and give players there fair crack before I make a judgement however in some cases you can tell straight away that some players just aren't right.

Dzeko unfortunately for me will take some flack this season if he fails to produce for 3 reasons. His big price tag coupled with scoring record in germany, his obvious lack of pace and appears annonymous if we don't have any width.

It's no coincidence that the 3 players at our club who get the most shit at the minute are the ones who are the slowest. Barry, Jo, Kolorov (although opinions are changing on the latter).

I agree with you, we will lose games, there will be worse games than last night and things will go wrong... just like they do at every other club. Given that we struggle to keep a manager in place for 18 months we shouldn't be complaining about inconsistency, it's a learning process for the players and us as fans.

We have had a long wait for success, and I know most peoples expectations are currently very high but even if it takes 2/3 years more it wont be the end of the world.

agree birmingham is a tough place to go and get a result, chelsea got beat,utd and spurs could only draw like us so a bit of perspective is required.
as poorly as we played second half tevez and kolorov had chances to seal the game.

Which is ok Kiam. But players are judged on 2 or 3 games on here and we have seen before that players need time.

Tevez was questioned, Yaya was panned, Kolarov was slated and we have seen Tevez turn into a God like player, Yaya as one of our most important players and now its Kolarovs turn to start changing peoples initial opinions. Theres others but theres 3 prime examples to give someone a bit of time.

Agreed. It would be easier to tolerate the booing than criticism of Dzeko.

Some City fans do my head in as well. In the past I used to think of us as a well grounded, realistic, knowedgable fan base. For some reason I find that many City fans have become arrogant, unrealistic, over reactionary and loads don't let other people have an opinion - it's like you have to be 100% positive or you're a Rag or a ****.

I've been saying all season that we're not gonna be challenging for the title this season at all. We're nowhere near the finished article; we have not had anywhere near enough development time to gel, build a heirarchy, build a togetherness, become a proper team; we've arguably got the most naive and inexperienced squad out of all the top teams (in our starting line-up last night only Yaya and Barry were over 25!); we've got loads of shit fringe players who are either so shit they effect our performances negatively (Vieira/Jô) or don't contribute anything to our season (SWP/Logan); our manager has us playing one style of football, if it's not working we don't adapt to the game, he has to be given time to develop and learn the game over here - this is not Italy, we won't win the league playing like an Italian team.

I've been saying all this for a while yet people get a bit shirty about this sort of outlook. Some think that if I don't say that we've got the best players and the best squad and the best manager and we'll win the league and we're better than United and how the fuck are they top of the league when they're shit and so on... that I'm not a proper blue and I can fuck off. But the reality is none of them things are true. We're the fourth or fifth best team and we'll finish fourth or fifth. Hopefully fourth, I'm not saying I want us to finish fifth, but fourth is a realistic and positive position since this is only really our third season with the Sheikh and only 18months with our new manager. It might be another two years before we're challenging.

On the flip side of the people who think I'm being too negative are the people who expect us to win the league because wee spent X amount of money so they'll boo off the team and the manager and slag everyone of them off all the time.

People need to get real and have a bit of a more realistic view and outlook at
about MCFC under Sheikh Mansour and Roberto Mancini. It won't happen over night and it certainly isn't going to happen this season. So let's try and enjoy what we have and aim to get into this top four this season and see what that brings in the summer!

Oh, and slagging off our players left and right, then declaring that we should be battering teams because we have a great squad.

Also, constantly slagging off Jo, a young player who is trying his hardest to fit in, that both Sven and Mancini has obviously seen something in. We know that he's a transitional player until we can get everybody back fit, Mancini knows this too, even HE knows he's a transitional player until we can get a 5 of Balo-Dzeko-Tevez-Silva-Johnson. Despite this though, everybody needs to constantly remind us that a player who has been loyal to us over the seasons and never once whinged about not playing games or anything, is shit and is the worst player to play football ever. 5 years ago, we'd have killed for a Jo. Instead of just taking it on our normal stride with the same type of gallows humour as always, Jo is the cause of every problem at City and needs to be murdered before he can waste any more of our precious time. We used to laugh at players who we knew were shit but were just there to make up the numbers, now we constantly slag them off.

Oh oh, also, depending on the day of the week it is, Vieira is a fantastic signing, who brings levity to a very young team and is the next major coach at City, having helped Richards, Balotelli and MJ improve their game and their attitude towards it, or he's a washed up nobody who is stealing a living and is only there because Mancini fancies him.

Thinking about it, Mancini should be blamed for Vieira playing badly, but never praised for Silva playing well. He's either an inept, defensive idiot who has no idea how to play the game, or he's a tactical genius who knows how to win and wins things the unpretty way.

Also, being in 3rd place, in the FA Cup 5th Round and the Knockout stages of the Europa league in February is a disgrace and we should be doing MILES better. We were top when we had 4 games in hand, so that means that we should be top now, despite nobody around us really losing.

I've got about 20 more, but I'm sure you see my point by now.
