Too funny..

It's annoying in the sense that England don't have a world class team, they've a few good players, but not one of them would walk on to the Spainish team, or some of the top countries.
English football is good because of all these players playing together but when they play apart, and we see this with England all the time, they are never as good. It was always Rooney isn't as good because he wasn't getting the supply of ball he used get when Ronaldo played with him.

In reality, the team is just above average, quarter finals at best. Yet nobody in the English camp can see it.
The Irish team, on the other hand, no that, they've ok players, one or two top ones like Given, Dunne, but overall average, yet they'll play as a whole, be supported by what will turn out to be the best fans of the tournament, as they always are, the Irish media will get behind them, and a quarter final place would be dreamland for them. They know their limits, but they're going to go and enjoy it beyond words. They just wanted to get to a tournament so they can enjoy themselves, and back in Ireland the place will go absolutely nuts.
They'll be buzzing, English fans are dreading it. Pride..ya.

Why can't England do that. Accept, and like Ireland, and one or two of the other do their best to unite, put in 100% and punch above their weight.
If England ego wasn't so big, we'd be 10 times better off. Not accepting our average team, hurts them and they'll be worse off for it.

I can't support any team that has Wayne Rooney or John Terry in it. I'm not normally a fan of infanticide but with those two at birth surely a canvas sack thrown into the local canal would have been a proportionate and reasonable thing to have done.
They are truly unpleasant human beings.

And Stewart Downing?!? 0 goals and 0 assists during the premiership season - there are reserve central defenders who have a better strike rate than that.

Thank god for cricket and Jimmy Anderson. He may support Burnley but he's a Lancashire lad and he doesn't support United. And he hates Mitchell Johnson. That's good enough for me.

Would like to see them do well if only for our players (Barry will probably cop the blame again if they do poorly) but looking at the squad I can't see much changing. With Hodgson in charge they'll be even more boring than usual.
