Exactly!
Have you ever noticed that on the very rare occasion that all the South Stand (not just one or two blocks like usual - the rest of you are shit!) and all the Singing Section all sing one song together as one and do it loud; the majority of the rest of the stadium then join in and get a good loud song going!? Have you ever noticed that when a really weak and poor effort of a song is started by about 1000 fans in the South Stand (this is about 95% of the time!) or 500 fans in the Singing Section that the rest of the stadium dont bother with the shit effort neither!?
I know there is another thread about "operation one end", But seriously that is what is needed! If there was a full end of vocal and loud City fans all singing as one i would guarantee 100% that there would absolutely definately be a better atmopshere at the CoMS as a whole than there is now! Fuck the fact we havent won any trophies for years and if we do the atmosphere will improve, im not buying that one bit - its shit now, its absolutely shit, against West Ham last week i looked over at the South Stand and Singing Sections in disgust at the toal lack of effort put in by our so called decent vocal fans - you are shit almost the lot of you (not all!)! Songs and atmopshere need to drastically improve!
So what we had a good atmosphere for 10 minutes against Arsenal, big wow! What about the other 80 minutes!? The so called singers again were quiet as fuck and outsung by Arsenal fans - you were by the Wolves fans as well as them singing "your support is fucking shit!" about 10 times! West Ham fans sang "cant buy an atmopshere!" Stoke fans sung "3-0 and you still dont sing" last season - notice a pattern here!?
There arent enough people in the South Stand and Singing Section to create a good atmosphere! How people dont know this is beyond me yet still people say that Operation One End isnt the answer! It might not be the total answer to getting the best atmosphere in the Prem but it will be a dam site better than the dreadful and embarrassing quitness that we have now!
Dan. Your wrong regarding Arsenal. That was a cracking atmosphere. West Ham wasn't good, but their away support was s***! Didn't help.
One thing I noticed. I usually sit in SS Upper, above SS lower and I find it hard to hear 110/111. I sat above 110/111 for the West Ham game and they sounded great. They got behind the team and took the piss out of the West Ham fans.
Being honest, COMS is s*** for acoustics. The stands are too shallow, the roof is too high and any noise generated either gets lost under the concrete cantilever or goes straight up into to the air. COMS is an athletics stadium. Simple as.
BTW. Did you hear United's support at home to Sunderland. Twice as many fans as us, but I can guarantee you that our support hasn't been that quiet this season.
