Superb post, fella, but your wisdom will be lost on the majority of flappers and eunuchs squealing on here todayanymore than 2sheiks said:I think Mancini is hamstrung at the moment. He's had to put up with a lot of players who he didn't sign and doesn't want. Once the likes of tevez, adebayor, bridge, santa cruz, etc have gone off the wage bill he'll be given more freedom to complete his squad. Lets not forget that when mourinho was at chelski, he didn't have the squad restriction that is in place now. The 4 players I've just mentioned equate to roughly 25 million in wages per year. Last season, I'll admit, I was pissed off with our style of play under Bob and thought he wasn't the man for us. This season however, without a non-english speaking, wantaway, selfish "captain" hogging every single half chance, we've passed it around better and played as a team.
I'm starting to think that mourinho is the tevez of the management world. A badge kisser. Great when he first rocks up, then starts throwing hissy fits and gets itchy feet. Mancini isn't the kind of man to throw the towel in, as his previous positions have proved. Bringing tevez back into the starting line up would take us back to the turgid dross of last season. Sacking Mancini would take us back to the utter crap hughes left us in.
As I stated in my previous post, mourinho wouldn't be able to just march in and change the team. We have players on 100k/wk+ who wouldn't be prepared to play elsewhere for 40/50k/wk. We have FFP rules coming in that would restrict any big money signings he'd like. He'd be in exactly the same position Mancini is in right now. Both have proven managerial track records of winning trophys. One is a media darling who kicks up shit when things don't go his way. The other actually wants to manage us for a long time and build a dynasty. As far as managers go, I'd only put the govan tramp above Mancini and the old twats reputation is dropping all the time.ErnieBilko said:I want Manchini to win the league for us and everything to be all right. I fear if he doesn't, no matter how close it is, then he'll be sacked (not that I want him to be sacked).
Based on his track record, you'd have to say if Mourino came to City he would be highly likely to win the title for us. He'd do whatever it took, including changing the team, if he didn't fancy a player or a player fell out with him. I could even see him bringing back tevez if he thought he'd do the business!
Building for the long term stability of the club, we need to stick with Manchini, even if we miss out on the title this season.
