I almost wrote my post as a question until I found this.


Still states that he is not much of a fan by his own admission.
I saw him being interviewed a few months back where he said he hates it when people talk footy with him. He actually said he has no interest in it at all.
That said, I can name a couple of celebs who are not really footy fans who have nailed their colours to a mast. John Culshawe supposes he's a city fan, ditto Freddie Flintoff. Simon Gregson too. I had a conversation with him once (He used to go out with my ex's sister) and I asked him who he supported, he said he doesn't follow football, then he turns up on some telly programme years later claiming to be a blue. I think they do it to curry favour sometimes. Would Oasis be as popular if they weren't city fans? I suspect a proportion of their fans like them purely because they are blues, same with Ricky Hatton.
