Was totally anti-Hughes last season but am a lifer pro-City. Aug-15th is a clean slate for everyone and, I believe, a new dawn for City. So Hughes, and all at my club, have my 100% backing for a top four finish!

slacker !

Yes, I never liked him as a player. His face offended me.His bicycle kick in 89 infuriated me

I like him now,I really like him. He keeps his cards close to his chest and,I despair at his pissed off face for 90 minutes of every game

However,he conducts himself well. I think he has the best intentions of this club,it's fans and,it's investors at heart

If you not afraid to say you like this guy, type aye.

HUGHES IS THE MAN

I'm thinking they've maybe come round to him now Jim. I wasn't so keen on him meself "ffs why this arsehole?" was how I viewed his appointment.

Other ppl of the same opinion probably added "He'll do a Blackburn! he'll make us shit!"

I don't think he will.It seems as if he is stepping up that next level that's required.

I actually trust the guy,he's realistic. I think he has more than a basic grasp of whats required to build to compete at the top.No dis-respect to Rovers but he can probably afford and attract bigger players (yes I know the irony in buying back RSC for £14 more)

I repeat,he is the man. He did a good job at BR.Ok,he had a wank season last seaon and, sometimes his tactical decisions were poo (seemed to have no plan B) but it was his 1st season.

I think he and the players will do it this year and surprise a lot of folk.

FKN COME ONNN

To be fair Jim, im not one of his greatest fans as a manager with what he's done for us so far, but, i have said on many occasions that he is indeed a top bloke. He seems a perfect gent, holds himself very well, is a very good ambassador for the type of club i hope we remain even with our riches, he shows humility and is completely dedicated to the City cause.

That is why i truly hope he finds the key to success with City.

But, as i also stated often on here last season, that has yet to be seen.

I like him and I rate him highly. In the nineties my then girlfriend did a mural in his kids bedroom in prestbury,I went to pick her up one night and while I was waiting his Mrs came out and invited me in,we only stayed for about half an hour and I didn't mention football(even though I was dieing to have a pop)but they both came across as being very likeable and genuine people.I must admit though he seemed very reserved.

the mans a numpty and he`ll be gone by xmas! battered off brighton, thumped by forest and outfought by 10 man stoke, add to that the mans tactical nous of a pebble and his inability to motivate the team last season in away games.no thanks!

Very good post CB. You've put your case across very well. As it happens, I'm a pro-Hughes supporter (never tried to hide it), and I am delighted that ADUG have decided to stick with him. I thought he'd get the bullet in the summer, as I can't imagine our owners being overly impressed with a mid-table finish for the financial outlay up to that point. Now though, the pressure is on Mark. He has been given more major financial backing, and I'm guessing that the players that have come in during the summer have been "Hughes signings", rather than the owners. He has also now had a full close season to work with and prepare the squad. Therefore, he can no longer have any excuses for not delivering a satisfactory season (Prem winners, FA Cup winners and Carling runners-up!). Seriously though, a top 6 finish and a good run in one of the cups (and just maybe, repeat, maybe, win one of them. If he ends up in mid table again, he will be sacked and he or any of us pro- hughes-ers can't complain.

Please tell me you don't sit in 111...?

Funny, I don't recall too many people hounded for having an opinion that they like Hughes. Can't say the same is the case for those with an opposite opinion though.
