I prefered it when we were s**t

the one thing that doesnt change is that we cant do much about it either way. We just turn up, regardless of whos in charge and how much theyve spent.
Im sure it was more of a laugh back then, but that might be just nostalgia kicking in

I know what the threat starter means : Even 10 years ago, the football was shit, the players were shit, the grounds we visited were shit, everything was shit compared to now !!

BUT, we were happy, there's more moaning/complaining these days because the expectation is too high.

Haha fuckin no chance, this is the best thing to ever happen to City and likely ever will we have been blessed by the gods and should say a prayer of thanks every morning!

Success will come eventually but that's due to having more money, ambition and business acumen than anything that's ever been before.

I'd rather be hated and loaded like we are now than loved and skint like we we're before...in other words get a grip.

pissed off with all you supposed fans saying its brill when we are signing these super star players and when something like a manager gets the boot its " i prefered it when we was shit "

get a grip will ya !!!!!!

this is the best period we are having since the 1970's yes over 30 years ago !!!!!!

so if you want city to go back to signing people like corradi and gorgie wier then fuck off and find a new club !!!!

Re: I preferred it when we were s**t

i love and am fascinated by the reactions to the op very small comment, a comment like that can mean many things to many men, it could mean he prefers city when they knew there place, it could mean he prefers the lower leagues, it could mean he preferred the feeling of camaraderie when we were struggling and had that bunch down the road patronizing us, it could mean he preferred it when we only had one direction to go. I don't know what he meant in truth but i do find it amazing how some newer fans take the comment as a instant negative and start trying to lynch a bloke who has obviously supported city when they were at there lowest ebb. When we were crap we could just about muster 33000 on a good day now we easily get 44000. was there really 10 thousand fans who couldn't get in the game in the old days, were hanging about main road on a match day trying to get a ticket? NO..... ten thousand plus have come to support the team since we came into money and i wouldn't mind betting its them who are telling a old time fan to fcuk off and support stockport, well just as long as you realize that fan was probably there supporting his team when we regularly played stockport in the league, he probably even came to the game the week after we had got beaten by stockport.

newer fans on here need to know about our clubs mentality, it may seem a bit weird at times, but it got us through some DARK times!!!

It was certainly much more fun being a blue, when the fans were more united, when we had humour, when we were watching players like the Goat who we loved getting comedy goals and when we actually had an incredible humour. I went to about 15 games in Div 2 and actually it was much of it a crack.

now we are a wannabe poor immitation of chelsea and when we do succeed and win leagueswe will do it because of a rich mans money, we will do it with fans who didn't even know who city were when we were in division 2 and we will do it with many of the fans who were there through thick and thin having walked away.

yes we will win but it will be like new labour winning in 1997 it will happen but only coz we have sold our soul! Now there were many in the labour party who loved the Blair revoultion but there were some who realised what it really meant.

Still it is too late to be whimsical now New City are here and a reality so we just have to be thankful that we will now beat United even if we are going to have to become them to do it!
