I remember a game against Reading a few years back, that we lost 2-0 at the Etihad. I travelled over for that game, and we were truly dreadful. Then, to top that, I flew back to Dublin that night and set off on the 130 mile drive back home, in the thickest fog I ever saw. Took me nearly 5 hours to do a 2.5 hour drive...a fucking horrendous day.

Yea think I know the one, Leroy Lita bagged in about the 84th minute and me and my mate just fucked it off. Think it was the last game I left early that, absolutely dire

I remember it being that bad David Makin went public on a GMR phone in slating the current management of the club. Before it happened I just finished listening to the commentary of another dire game while doing my college work thinking how shit does it have to get before we bounce.

After listening to Mr Makins outburst I felt better that we had someone there who actually gave two shits and had the balls to call it how it was. If I remember rightly that was a small turning point in our clubs history that ended up with us where we are now.

Them days are dead and buried, never to return.

In response to the first 2 vids I always like McGoldrick, he was decent player who was running out of legs and won a few MOM's if i remember. The one who needs shooting is Kernaghan i think. What a waster, a fine example how not to defend. Also when they had that period when injured players would sign autographs at HT in theNorth Stand I asked him to sign it for Gill coz my mum was ill and he refused. Twat.

Positive note I always like Shelia and Tskhadadze too, always gave 100% and would have loved to see how theyd done at a higher level if fit.

That's the one. Think he got both, down at the SS end. It might have been the Pearce season, as I remember being at the same game the following season when Stephen Ireland got that cracking last minute winner, and I think THAT was the Sven season.

It's still raw after all these years. Still the only time I've cried at a football game. The sudden realisation that we were actually shit.

It's been a long way back...

Watching that is painful...a dagger to the heart

Anyone remember Sammy Lee hitting a 30 yarder at Maine road I was only a youngster and a bloke next to me said "I hope we keep it to single figures"

I think that goal was the first of a game that was 0-5 to Liverpool in April '82. Francis out suspended, we were utterly hopeless against a great team who always seemed to hammer us.
