I remember when we were that abysmal..

Serious question. Anybody ever run into York City fans and have a bit of a laugh together?
Do you reckon there’s many York fans who realise the significance of that match to us? Just a fairly memorable win that ultimately meant nothing to them and has been forgotten about a long time ago

Oh right, lol.
Their fans and manager George Burley were absolute bitter twats that we beat them to promotion and revelled in sending us down.
One of my all time favourite away trips was watching Keegan’s City wipe the floor with them, live on national TV, as they slid towards relegation and we pissed promotion

And we have been in the PL ever since whilst they've been in the Championship ever since apart from one season in PL, and that was 2018/19 season iirc.

Havent done it for a while but would go over and fart on united shirts, not that I'm childish in any way.
I always open the newspapers at the supermarket when we've had a good win and leave them in the supermarket displaying the city reports and pics..........And why not? Something I couldn't do for years and years.

For some reason, a game that sticks in my mind is a trip to watch us play Wimbledon at Selhurst Park. I don't recall much about it except we got beat and the quality of football was absolutely dire.
I remember being on the train home thinking the best part of the day was looking at the book shops of Charing Cross Road, and having a scran in a little Italian place near Leicester Square which used to do the best value for money meal south of Trent. And that led me to think 'You must be fucking mad spending all that money to follow City. Can't you take up something more enjoyable, like stamp collecting?' But next match I was there at Maine Road. hoping something would change. And it did. We got a lot worse.

We lost to Wycombe Wanderers twice in one season.
Argh! Had the pleasure of ' doing' both Wycombe games. Sat in the Main Stand for the away match, keeping quiet throughout as we lost 1:0 (think it was a penalty ?) Had a good view that night...only thing remotely good about that 'experience'.
Had the pleasure of another splendid night seeing us lose at Lincoln City around the same time. 'Character building' we kept convincing ourselves at the time!

Was that the one we lost 3:0 under the football genius that was Alan Ball? Remember the City fans started singing 'Shit team, great fans'? not sure what our heroes made of that!?
Think I remember going in that Italian off Charing Cross Road you mentioned.
Quite a scruffy place from memory. Seem to recall the chairs had rips in them, no toilets so had to use the toilet in the pub opposite.
The food though was very good, great value for very generous portions!

I'm glad its not just me who feels that way about them.

Was that the one we were 4 down at half time? There were 6 of us in 2 cars. I drove one of them. I was so pissed off I left at half time whilst the other 5 watched it out. I then got totally lost driving round London and by the time I got home all my mates had watched it to the end - drove back, beat me back and were on their 3rd pint in our local
