Said it on another thread: If the Board thinks that Pellegrini can't take the team further and we need a fresh face, then they are right to sack Pellegrini. If they think that Pellegrini is the reason why our team is mediocre and a new coach will change our fortunes, then hiring Guardiola will be a futile exercise.
If the reports are true that Guardiola has no plans for an extensive overhaul, then I expect the repeat of this season's or previous season's performance under Guardiola. No coach in this world can bring intensity into this group of players that got hammered by a team, that had Liverpool reject "Poulsen" playing for them.
It wouldn't be unreasonable for Guardiola to take the view that having 7 or 8 new players turning up late in the transfer window, when he's had very little time to work with the squad because of the Euros and Copa America, might not necessarily be the best idea.

Quite probably the same interview, with a request to spread the spinning over several days.
It won't help though, as they have Jackson and Herbert so it's written fairly feebly.
There's quite a big caveat with the Messi stories - IF, he ever left Barcelona it would be to come here. I don't see why we would be selling both if any of Otamendi and Mangala for starters, do people really believe they were purchased with no thought for Pep coming in?
Yes they have not been great thus far but neither has the rest of them around them, you hardly get a struggling team having a stand out CB!
Pellegrini went to scout Otamendi at the Copa so, like Bony, it's almost certainly one of his ideas.
