West Ham were in the old Second Division when Morley was stabbed in March 1991, but were promoted at the end of the season.

I'm guessing that Bishop would have faced both Hughes and Pearce in 91-92. My money would be on Pearce, but it's all a bit sad.

Also, somebody mentioned the unfounded Steve Coppell rumours which I'm pretty sure surfaced in the same month as the unfounded Arsene Wenger rumours. Ironically, I was informed of both "facts" by the same gobby rag in the office

I also don't think it is Reid who is far more enlightened than some give him credit for. He's actually a very liberal minded guy from what I know of him.

We stayed in the same hotel as him, in Germany, for the 2006 WC and ended up sitting with him for a few drinks in the hotel bar one night. Very level headed and really passionate about City and said he loved his time here and only wished he would have been given the time to 'finish the job' !
Decent guy all-round is Peter Reid.

Top of Div 1 playing Premier League leaders - we played really well, great game and that Leeds team were fantastic to watch...............

Hopefully Leeds fans will remember that this team was all built on false accounting and a house of cards, before they start pissing and moaning about money next week. But I doubt it

They took us to pieces after 2-2 but we were excellent for the first half hour(?) - still a great game to watch............

They weren't.
Bishop left before the end of 2000 / 01 season under Royle.
Pearce was Keegan's first signing ahead of the 2001 / 02 season
