Many years ago I perceived Hindley as a 'victim' of his.
Now I am not so sure. Mainly because of her actions and words behind the scenes whilst incarcerated, some of which has only recently came to light.
In summary, she was either worse than he or manipulated beyond belief.
She had some sanity and wasn't as evil as he and yet that makes it worse.

As I said Rach, I perceived her as a 'victim' when I read about the case nearly 30 odd years back. Victims come in all shapes and guises.

Now I don't see her as that, because she had the ability to break away from Brady and, although she did that, she only did it to get freedom.

I've read what she said and her attitude to Lesley Anne Downeys mother, in particular, was not someone who had real remorse.
