Do we even know if the organisers are going to insist on having the jab to get in? I can’t see any reference to it anywhere. It’ll be piss funny if it turns out that they don’t make it compulsory. He’ll look an even bigger twat then!

No word from the organisers yet, who are no doubt waiting for more government guidance/seeing what happens.

Brown has been steadily digging his own grave for months now....I'm not sure many festivals and events will be eager to book him even if vaccine passports/certificates don't become a thing.

Spout shit get banned.

I have a relative whose child became seriously ill shortly after being vaccinated . She is also on the Autism spectrum and my relative blames the vaccine for that too.
I really don't know what to say to her. I've told her that the powers that be probably think that if vaccines save millions of lives then a minority whose lives are ruined by them is just too bad .
Nothing will change her fervently anti vax opinions

I was thinking the same thing - that they won’t have made a decision yet and if anything, will not want to make it mandatory. If all continues to go well and we do come out of lockdown on June 21st then I don’t see how any festivals taking place in August and September will request proof of vaccination as a condition of entry. If that does indeed turn out to be the case then he’s going to get so much shit as his tweet suggests the organisers have insisted on it!

Edit: Just looked and it seems that the organisers of the Leeds and Reading festival are saying either vaccine or a negative Covid test taken 24-36 hours beforehand. Details of the test procedure below and not too expensive, so no mandatory vaccination for that festival:

They will be required to take the test in front of a doctor on a computer screen between 24 and 36 hours before they’re due to leave for the festival. If the test is negative, the doctor will send them a QR code which will act as their health passport to grant them entry at the festival gates.
It is thought the appointment will take around three minutes and cost between £8 and £10. The cost has yet to be confirmed yet though. Mr Benn feels this might only apply to a small amount of people with it expected that UK adults will be offered a Covid vaccine by July 31.

Was the illness proven to be connected to the vaccine?

I'm sorry to hear about your relative and her child. I can understand why she might have those views.

I won't comment on your relative but generally, it's obviously a highly emotive subject and for some vaccines are convenient thing to blame. For instance Robert De Niro has given his support to antivax views and had planned to screen an antivax film at his festival. His son has autism and he has at several times spoken of a supposed link.

However, when his child was conceived, De Niro was in his mid 50s and his partner was in her 40s. There is stronger evidence of a link between parents' age and autism than vaccines but it perhaps doesn't carry the same burden of guilt to blame childhood vaccination policies.

Just tell her she's wrong.

I see Neighbourhood festival, now moved to September, have given him the elbow from his headline slot.

Replaced by James, which is a massive win for anyone attending as James shit all over IB.

Mixed bag in the comments section but plenty of people calling him out for the prick he is which was good to see.

Missed a trick by not replacing him with The Vaccines.
Those who are going have, as the cockneys would say, had a touch. Not having to listen to his tuneless caterwauling. Jammy fuckers.

Took a minute to read the replies there. Good grief, there really are loads of these complete denier fuckwits out there.
It’s astonishing. Also, people telling others to stop following him if they don’t like the shite he posts. Well maybe, just maybe, they were primarily following him because they like his music and that of the Roses, and not because he spouts unsubstantiated bollocks about Covid all the time. Anyway, I couldn’t resist lobbing this little grenade in ;)

You can imagine him sat at home dismantling his iPhone to find the nanobots that plant subliminal psychic messages telling him to sign up to Amazon prime or grilling Alexa for confessions of her CIA involvement

Loved his music and he was a great frontman. We are all entitled to an opinion but he leaves himself open to so much ridicule currently. If it's any consolation David Icke was my landlord when I rented on the Isle of Wight

Hes an abysmal front man. Go watch Freddie Mercury or Dave Gahan and then compare Ian Brown to those two.
