Ian Curtis: An Unlikely Manchester City Supporter

No Joy division were a class act and ahead of their rime, what came out of it (new order) were also underated imho for how great they were, put it this way, I went to see Peter Hoik last saturday do a fucking great gig and he is a right red bastard, but still one of tge best bass players in history.

If it was shite like simply red I would hold their ragness against them, but great music has no such bias

Agreed, I too lived New Order. At the end of the day if a band you live support your team it’s good. But if they don’t, you do t care because it’s the music that matters.

Peter Hook is taking the piss. Gets a bloke in Australia to design all the synth sounds and make the backing tracks to songs he did not write, gets Potty to sing the vocals to lyrics he did not write either, then gets someone else to play bass.

Can someone please explain to me who this Curtis person is? Is he well-known? (Not to me he's not)
I don't know who he is/was, but then again I don't know who half the people are who get discussed on here.
Not that any of that matters...

I haven’t seen Control yet but Sean Harris is excellent as Ian Curtis in 24 Hour Party People. As it goes, an old mate played Stephen Morris as they wanted a drummer who could act.

It took a while to truly absorb Joy Division but they really make sense once you have.
