Don't think we need to get rid of him. I mean the fact that having someone of the quality he is capable of delivering (despite current performances) as a squad player is a real signal of our status in world football. I know that we're not there yet but there has to be a starting point. To get rid would just give the player, media and other clubs the opportunity to snipe at us saying things such as "you can have all the cash in the world but you still not a big club" For me let him sit on the bench, he is no different to the other players, he needs to fight for his spot, and when he gets the chance has to deliver. Think we need to wait until we have another couple of really world class name signings before shipping big names out.
