Great thread.

Not iconic but 0-6 away at Derby was a grim day out.

In all my years watching the Blues that is the only time I recall leaving early.

Dya remember the batterings we got off WBA 9-2 and Leicester 8-4. I seem to recall they were within weeks of each other. I shall investigate.

Invesitgation complete: WBA Sept 57 and Leicester Feb 58. Must have carried the 9-2 around with me and stuck it on the 8-4 with only a breath of air between 'em.

Reading away in an FA Cup replay in 1968. The first match was an awful 0-0 draw at Maine Road. The replay was four days later at the old Elm Park stadium.

I had skived off work at lunchtime and drove from Manchester in my old Ford Anglia. It went really well that day.

I was sat on a wall at the back of the terrace behind one goal. I was talking to someone from Newbury who decided after the third goal that he was a Swindon supporter and cheered the remaining four City goals. After the 7-0 win I had to drive back to Manchester and be back at work by 9:00 the next day.

That Derby away end was a death trap.
The 0-6 result was one of the worst days of my life. I'd gone with a forest mate who was in their end.he met me after the game and literally dropped to the ground with uncontrollable laughter .
I also worked with the Lad.the next few weeks after that result were uncomfortable..
