ID cards.

because last week the whopping "patriots" were dead against them for every one - all Starmers fault of course - then they went full on over Chinese spies - that got no traction so now its football - so I assumed that they must have missed this roll out being Starmers fault so they could protest that too

Wow. "Whopping patriots". "Protest". "Chinese Spies".

It's just people with an opinion, posting it on a message board, no need to overdramatise things.

If the card for veterans was compulsory I would be just as much against it.

But it's not compulsory, it's voluntary and veterans are free to sign up for it, or not.

Can you not see the difference between the two?

do you know what the proposed ID system will be used for?

No, because it hasn't been defined. Initially to counter people working illegally even though we already have a system of checking peoples right to work.

Ive heard various other suggestions. Banking and finance. Government services. Even read this morning that you might need it to buy booze.

Once it's in, and once it's been made compulsory that's it. It will be used for whatever the government of the day wants to use it for.

I’ve just noticed my NatWest app now has a carbon footprint calculator. Conspiracy theorists told me for years this was all part of the plan and I laughed in their faces. You can opt out of this, but the foundations are there for this to be implemented.

All govns are nice and would never exploit this. Lool

I find the new ‘Veterans ID Card’ quite funny. This card will be allowed as a proof of identity. This is funny because when I was in the Forces and I was asked for proof of identity by civilian establishments, bank - applying for HP etc, I was always told that my ID card, which got me into high security army bases, was not good enough. Apparently, having your photo on it was not good enough it had to be a card with your signature on it but not necessarily your photo. Now, some 36 years after leaving, it will be OK!! Figure that.

Not going to be compulsory according to Starmer. Not needed for everything except right to work. And I would hope that if you could demonstrate your right to work another way it wouldn't even be needed for that.
