Idrissa Gueye refuses to wear a rainbow shirt

Yes - The contract probably says they have to wear it.

In a breach of contract case a court might consider some objections reasonable but you would have to get to court to find out.

I doubt that very much.

When push came to shove the vacuousness of this virtue signalling was exposed, he wasn't sanctioned, no one was going to court, they simply made excuses and didn't play him.

Gueye has worn shirts with alcohol sponsors and betting company sponsors all of which, as a devout Muslim, he should have had an issue with. Is he picking and choosing what values he is happy to uphold or is he just homophobic? Not sure what you mean with your last senstence and BTW not sure we are owned by an investment fund.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't some players in the Premier league refuse to wear a shirt with a poppy on, it's peoples choices at the end of the day he shouldn't be forced to wear one weather this is right or wrong is debatable but we all have choices he has made his feelings known that's all there is to it,

That's one take. Another is; he made himself look a dick, refused to play so missed a game and soured his relations with the club. That's all his loss.

PSG could take it further but its not in their interest over 1 game so it will likely get dropped.

Really?

And what if the players were required to wear a shirt with a picture of a foetus with the words "Life Begins at Conception"
In that case, it would be legitimate to question what that's got to do with football. Kick It Out, taking the knee or the rainbow laces campaign are directly related to stamping out bigotry in the game. The campaign you suggested would be more akin to the Ukrainian t-shirts worn recently, or the poppy campaign.

The reality is that gay footballers are afraid to come out precisely because of the sort of hostile environment created by people like Gueye and his supporters.

Gueye is no more required to be consistent in the things he does or does not have an issue with than you or I.

The fact that human beings are a bag of contradictions is not news to me.

Gueye may very well be homophobic, but that is not a crime, go ask the Pope, he might not know who Man Utd are, but he believes sexual activity between members of the same sex is a sin, is he homophobic?

How so?

BTW not sure we are owned by an investment fund.

Really? Then what are we owned by?

Think is was Maclean who refused to wear the shirt but he wore one without and played the game. Here is a player who, it looks like, is hiding behind the fact he is a devout Muslim but is happy to wear a shirt promoting drinking and gambling. Looks like homophobia to me, maybe I am wrong. If he hadn't worn the other tops then maybe I might have some sympathy but in the week that a young English footballer comes out as gay and everyone has said how brave etc you then having a fellow pro potentially exhibiting homophobic behaviour. Is it any wonder so few players come out?

There was a player once who refused to wear a gambling logo on his shirt but was caught in a casino, it wasn't that long ago.

Papiss Cisse was his name.

Can you be all 3?

I never said it was a crime but the hypocrisy is odd to me. Happy to hide behind his religion for one thing but equally as happy to not hide for others. I have no idea about the Pope's views so I can't comment

I don't understand what you are trying to say, not sure how else to phrase it

Sheikh Mansour an individual.
