My Dad was one of the ones who fought in WW2. He'd be shocked if he saw us to-day. We may have lots of new gadgets, nice clothes, plenty of food etc but some things are much worse. One example:

Time was when I used to go dancing/clubbing in Manchester, if I missed the all-night bus (about 12:30ish) home (Chorlton-on-Medlock) I would walk home, alone, down London Road, round Ardwick Green etc. I wouldn't dare do that now.

I think my grandfather would see that we no longer play at Maine Road,look at our current wages bill and then die again,of shock.

My great grandad hated football, said it was for 'poofs' he even made my grandad play rugby instead.

Imagine if he seen todays footballers!!

Not just footballers wages! My iold dad loved a pint and a game of darts and he was really good at it - he's be gobsmacked at how much darts players can earn now.
