If we had safe standing would you relocate

I would imagine safe standing could double the capacity of that section? If so prices could be halved and apart from the initial outlay the club would make the same money. In fact they could make more if you factor in the increased catering profits etc

Great idea.

Stick the away fans in the top tier and make the southstand full safe standing.

I hate sitting down at football but safe standing areas offer fold down seats as well as a bar to lean on so you could have a sit down at half time then.

yeah I would move + we should be able to take drink with us you can @ rugby league and it causes zero bother

would suggest if we got safe standing we ( Blue Moon posters) give up having a go each other as fans for 12 months to get out of the bad habit we gotten into

Lets just accept and rejoice that some sit could be silent or maybe sing and others who stand and are silent or sing who cares

without a doubt, i would relocate where ever there was standing, apart from at the fkn swamp !

Those like myself who used to stand in the Kippax will remember the laugh of standing with your mates and not being told where to sit. We'd get in early and take our spots, the non singers/ older/ less vociferous lot had their bit and everyone was happy.

That's where i see the idea falling down nowadays though - so many seem to take their seats with 10 minutes to go cos they can't part with their pint and find the idea of watching football without drinking right til kick off impossible... so how many will go back to the old days of getting a place maybe an hour before kick off and not drinking for that hour?!

I used to stand on the Kippax, not the noisy lot at the back though(!), first barrier between half way line and north stand, loved it.. took a seat in the same spot when they built the new kippax.

I think safe standing is great in theory but i just really can't see any prem club taking it on - if it became legal which of course it isn't. I would keep my seat, but that's cos now i'm late 30s (get that coffin ready!) i have back and leg problems which worsen badly if stood still for long periods! But other healthy people are welcome to have it as long as it's behind the goal and not where i sit ;)

yeah if we can pay German prices to stand
Agreed, I would relocate, but only if prices there were reduced, if not, no thanks I'll stay where I am.

Its not just safe standing that is the issue for me, its having an area with unallocated seating (standing), this would allow those who want to sing (stand) to be together.

Not quite double. The Football Licensing Authority (FLA) state that the space for 10 seats is taken up by 9 standers (which is why when fans like the rags get a reduced capacity due to standing, they take the end seats out). That number of 9 doubles as a seat covers two steps, standing only one.

So you can have 18 people for every 10 seats =
1000 seats 1800 standing
3000 seats 5400 standing
5000 seats 9000 standing
etc
Clubs would face the initial one off cost of installing the seats / barriers etc but after that, profit all the way for clubs increasing their attendance figures.
