If we win the UCL, will we play the Club World Cup?

I don’t think it’s worthless. It’s nowhere near as important to us as the CL but saying “EVERYONE“ is clearly wrong. It’s easily more important than the Copa Libertadores to fans in South America so I don’t think we can start ignoring continents.

It used to be a bit of a laugh to European teams twenty years ago but clubs tend to really want to win it these days and when you look at the money involved from the future expanded FIFA tournament EVERYONE will be taking that seriously.
Lol you're really annoyed. Wait until you see the Bluemoon comments about this cup competition when Chelsea or Liverpool were winning it.

I also guess you're OK about the compacted PL schedule that we will get as a result, the players having to trot off round the globe at a crucial time just before Xmas?

All that so we can win something that most people, fans, media don't recognise as anything other that a FIFA money making scheme.

Yep, I am. I want City to win every fucking trophy that we enter. I want to look back and remember winning the lot.

Some very snobby comments in this thread. I want to win everything we enter.
i would rather we have our players here at our busy time concentrating on the prem and not flying off for nearly two weeks , you are not really the best club in the world , the dippers pretending they were was tragic

we would play in the Super Cup vs Seville in Greece.

the Club world cup wouldn't be on until 2025 but the winners of the 2023 UCL will also be involved, along with previous winners
There is one planned for 2023, the 2025 one is the expanded one which the European clubs don't want so may never happen.

I really hope we win on Saturday, but for me, the World Club final is just another pressure on over-worked players to fulfil he greed of the moneymakers. Too much football, City have played well over 60 games this season, and most of the squad have played many more in the World Cup, this is a ridiculous situation, the suits sit on their arses and bleed their clubs to death.

It will probably clash with the League Cup quarter final.
We need to win first but the financial income of winning Saturday is huge ..money be coming in from all angles from the spin offs.

League Cup quarter final - £25k this season
Super Cup - minimum of £3m
World Club - minimum of £2.5m
Champions League winners - £17.2m

Can see the league cup being revamped in 2025 or optional.

I went to this in Tokyo, in I think 1984, in its previous incarnation as the Intercontinental Cup. It was Liverpool against someone, can't remember who. The Liverpool team had Ian Rush in it, that's literally all I can remember. I was absolutely dying of thirst for football at the time, which explains why I went.
(Incidentally, I seem to remember that after the fiasco involving Celtic, United then got quite a kicking from Estudiantes the following year, in ’68.)
But — no satellite tv at the time, no internet, really. No tours of far-flung countries to play friendlies. I can see why this existed at the time — as a shop window to get football off the ground globally. There was some rationale for it. By the way, the stadium was packed.
That war has now been won, and been won completely and utterly. It is the prerogative of anyone who thinks it's important to care about winning it, and watching it. It is my prerogative to not care about it, and not watch it.
First, though, we have a barrier to hurdle on Saturday. Let's worry about that.

Great just the busy time in dec , hope we send the kids if we get there , ridiculous money making , no thought to the players and their heavy schedule at home bollocks
I bet you any money the players won’t think that.

Plus the club will love this:

$5m is 3,984,850.00 Pound sterling… which is more than winning the EFL Cup, FA Cup and the season ticket price hikes put together.
