If You Can't Beat Em Join Em

To be successful in the Premier League you have to have a certain level of physicality in your squad, to be successful in the Champions League you're not allowed to use your physicality. You therefore have to find players that can be physical and match the Premier League sides who like to "get stuck in", but that can also control it and reel it in when playing in Europe, without that diminishing their technical ability.

I don't think we'll see anyone do the Premier League and Champions League double for a very long time.

Said it before, it's about guile. Barca, Real, Munchen have it in bucket-loads but we don't yet. Thing is that I doubt the UEFA band-wagon and their cash-cows would be in a hurry to introduce and tolerate a more physical style of play - why would they? It's up to us to adapt our playing-style for future CL campaigns but I'd hate to see Manchester City players cheating, conning or agressively influencing the Officials. Hopefully the guile we desperately lack will come with experience.
