If you could have one player in the January window.

I'd say Xavi, Pirlo or Alonso but although they've all got years left, I'd rather go for someone younger. We should've splashed out in the summer on Marco Verratti in the summer when we had a chance.
I didn't know much about him at the time but he's already become an integral part of PSG's side, our scouts must have seen this in him if our reported interest was true.

Veratti pretty much plays the same role Silva / Nasri does so ....... Xavi and Pirlo yes (if we had a time machine) . I would rather have us buy a young , strong and intimidating Midfielder , someone who can be compared to Yaya . Yaya is also 29/30 now so it wouldn't be too early to start finding someone who could play along side him , learn some stuff from him and go on to replace him in 4 or 5 years .

This, but I think we have settled for Garcia now unless Mancini wants to replace Barry which I kind of doubt.

We don't need a striker but we need a Xavi, someone alongside Yaya who can make the team tick, we lose possession very easily at times and a Xavi esq player would solve that issue in my opinion.
