If you don't like Oasis, don't open this thread

Had to play the album in full today......and loved every second of it.

It is a cliche, but Oasis were the right band, at the right time.

I remember listening to WTSMG for the first time and can honestly say, when I heard Don't Look Back In Anger, it made me cry, totally blew me away,

I've also posted before of the time when they played Maine Road (the Saturday) and I was standing on that pitch, City had beaten Villa that day, they played Champagne Supernova and I remember just looking up to the stars and saying out loud to myself "wow, this is it"!!

It's easy to knock Oasis, but who wouldn't have wanted their career - normal working class lads, who formed a band, made it big and made lots of money........what's not to like about that??

And, when I say made it big, people often forget just how big they were at the time.

I bought WTSMG on the day of its release with my first pay from my first full time job when I was 16 and 3 months old.
I then met my girlfriend of the time a couple of weeks later and we both lost our virginity together listening to it. She's Electric sticks in my mind from that moment.

The whole album is just littered in many memories for me, and probably shit loads of other people too.

Saw them at the Nynex the following month (I think it was November) and then at Maine Road. Great times as a 16 year old.

Had a listen today and memories came flooding back. It was great.

They were massive
But they didn’t milk it like other bands would have
They could have release another two singles and played about 10 nights at Knebworth if they had wanted.

The nostalgic threads about bands of the 60s 70s and 80s show what a dirge of actual talent in the UK during the 90s had that Oasis are considered the best thing to come from it.

They weren't btw bands already around and established if not front page news preciously were better like Pulp, Blur, and Suede.
