If you had a time machine......

I had the semi final down as my favourite ever game in Gary James' book about Joe Mercer
I was the same age as you, stood in the scoreboard end with my dad, and was lucky enough to be taken to the final.
The trip was £33 each!

Have you dried out yet!

I'd go add an extra 1 onto our record, the highest English attendance all those years back.

......which single City game from history would you choose to be at?

I reckon the quarter final in 1934 would take some beating.

September 1st 1939: Hitler invades Poland
September 2nd 1939: Manchester City 2 Chesterfield 0
September 3rd 1939: Britain declares war on Germany

I’d love to go back in time and listen to the half time gossip on the Kippax
I wonder if they were complaining about Frank Swift’s distribution?

5 May 1996 and grab that squeeky little fuckwit ball before he tells the players to play for a draw.

5 september 1990 and tell lakey to pull out of the game that day

the agueroooooo moment again.

the 1956 cup final to see Bert

Comeback v Spurs in FA cup 3-4

Hard to look past the 1-6 for me

Went to 3-4 Owen late goal
Rooney overhead kick and CC semi final. 3 times quite close together I had to watch those cunts gloating at me and I miss the fucking 1-6

Crying face

Went a bit down hill from then mate, but what a fantastic atmosphere that day
Don't remember much about it to be honest
Dad just tells me I was crying at each goal with all the noise :)
In my defence I was only 6

Newcastle away 1968
Mine too. I had enough tokens to get a ticket but the old fella wouldn't let me go as he classed two mates who did go as hooligans. Daft thing is from all accounts it was one the the friendliest games ever.

I'd go back to the Wolves match at Wembley in 76 and call my Dad a cheap **** when he refused to pay the ticket tout.
Hopefully it would have shamed him into us watching the match instead of sitting on the steps outside, listening to a wireless with all the other losers.

Didn't need a ticket. I paid at the gate at the Leazes End.
As I said I didn't go but my memory of it was my two mates had tickets, they were older than me and got in. If they didn't need tickets fuck knows why I was made to go to loads of reserve matches to get the team sheets

Funnily enough I think that it was on this exact day in 1894 that we recorded our 1st ever win as Manchester City - beating Port Vale 4-1 at home. I wouldn't mind zipping back 132 years and watching that one.
