If you had a time machine......

That's a great question.

For me, probably the Cup Winners Cup final against Gornik ZEBRA in Vienna, obviously only with the finest waterproof clothing available at the time. I was 11 and been to all the home rounds, sitting at the back of the Platt Lane stand with my mates. I'd been physically sick with excitement after Tony Towers scored in the quarter final and seen what I still think was the best game I saw at Maine Rd against Shalke in the semis, so to have been at the final would have been special.
No wonder I have only seen it in black and white. :-)

1981 FA Cup Semi against Ipswich, was behind the goal when Paul Power curled his extra time winner in, utter bliss, that was back in the day when the FA Cup meant something special. I would catch Sergio's 93:20 winner on the way back..!

Spurs at home, August 95. To take care of that Alan Ball fucker before it was too late.

March 2nd 1996, vs Blackburn at Maine Road. My first city game and i was hooked since, even though it was a boring as fuck 1-1 and we got relegated 2 months later. A fitting introduction to what it is to be a city fan!
Anyway, id go back in time and drag the younger me away before he entered the turnstile! Tell him to get into cricket or something!

Not a game. Something more historical....

I'd want to be at any board meeting which agreed bailing the rags out and show them what the cunts become of their actions.

Me too.

But if it has to be a match, I'd probably say v Notts County and record the Jim Melrose goal on my phone so anybody who wasn't there could see it.

I had the semi final down as my favourite ever game in Gary James' book about Joe Mercer
I was the same age as you, stood in the scoreboard end with my dad, and was lucky enough to be taken to the final.
The trip was £33 each!
