Easily option 1. 2 would mean we've had a very ordinary season and 3 would mean we've had a crap season but got a bit lucky. I'd love a trip to wembley and see us lift a trophy but breaking the top 4 is going to establish us as the major force we want to be.

Breaking the top 4 would be a groundbreaking move and would open doors to signings , marketing etc all previously denied us. so i think on balance that would have to be the choice, however with no europe i would hope a decent cup run also i would be ecstatic if we won summat before i shuffle off this mortal coil.

Top 6 and a cup SF is the minimum I would expect, especially with no european football.

Top 4 and a cup would be out of this world but still could be achievable IF we get those extra few signings and the current top 4 don't suddenly spend big from somewhere. Both league and FA cups are what, only 6-7 extra games for each?

We just need some consistency and for the bloody players to actually turn up at away matches, if we lose to the likes of Hull, Wolves, Burnley, Stoke, Sunderland, Bolton etc I am going to be frigging disgusted with this squad. With our spending since Hughes joined (if we do sign Tevez & either eto'o/villa) we could have bought half the teams in the PL and just played their under-16's against us ;-)

All this should win/reach whatever round of a cup is the most pathetic and no-nothing thing i have ever read............

What if we are drawn at Chelsea/Anfield in first game in league and FA cup and lost......presume you would want Hughes sacked??

Or we could play no-one in the top 10 of prem (they all knock each other out) and win it, he was the right man after all????
