No 3. I was 15 when Dennis scored that overhead kick. I am 48 in two months time so 50 is coming up like an express train. If you said to me now City get relegated, you chop my left arm off but we could win the FA Cup, then its a good deal to me. What are we all here for really. The answer is the love of the Sport and more importantly the love for our team. And the most important things that binds us is our past and are shared memories; what have we got to show for my Adult lifetime in that Department. Trevor Morley, A wonderful day at Ewood Park, Gillingham and a few magical players such as Geo and Ali B, the odd victory against the Rags. It is nowhere near enough.
I know a Cup victory is not a measure of greatness but recently apart from Portsmouth haven't the Sky 4 won the F A Cup every year since 95 ?? So how can that not be classed as a major achievement ?? and then consider the other ponderables and strange possibilities that Football can throw at you. What if we finish 4th but have a bad night in the Qualifying round against a Shakter Donesk or a Seville?? what if we finish 7th but the gap which some can see narrowing is bridged and say Liverpool are only four points away in third ? this is what has happened to our friends in Hamburg - still up for a treble at the end of April and finished with nothing more than the Europa League.
When " posting" on a debate-like topic on the Forum I always try to be thoughtful and intelligent and the highlights in my week now are if I look back on a thread and see that someone has quoted me and discussed my opinion. ie; " Ifiwasarichfan wrote" etc. On this, I make no apologies for getting emotional and ridiculous in the first paragraph and "waffling" in the second.
