If You Knew Somebody Was Going To Take Your Job, Would You..

They hate Hughes and they want to make him suffer.

When I was in the army and they replaced our well respected captain with a worst kind of idiot you’ll ever find - we did exactly the same as the City players.

Just to get rid of him we did everything we possible could to make him look like a complete failure in front of his superiors.

If we been football players he would have sold us in a minute…

I've been made redundant before and I didn't give a crap for my last month.......

If, however, the effort and work I put in for my last month was going to be visible to future employers and would determine how much I was going to get paid for the next 3-4 years you can be damn sure I'd be busting a gut to show myself off. Does Richards, for example, laughing after the West Brom game, think any future manager is going to view that positively.

All managers want committed, hard workers as much as they want quality and half our team at the moment are showing fuck-all pride, effort or quality - this is all going to affect their mega-bucks wages when they get shipped off and could mean the difference between them being bought by Villa, Spuds, Everton or them ending up at Hull, Stoke or West Brom!!! You can be damn sure if I was Moyes or Saggyface I would be rethinking whether it's worth spending a bundle (plus a further bundle on wages) on some of our players going by the displays I've seen over the first half of the season. My first thoughts would be why should I sign players who are going to give up if there are any rumours I am going to replace them.

would you not try your hardest because ;
1. You might want someone else to buy you
2. You might want to prove the Mgr wrong
3. You might have a shred of professionalism and pride in what you do

Exactly!!!! Though I'm sure the Transfer Window had alot to do with some bad performances and hopefully the new transfers won't be as temporary that way they do not repeat the same thing. A little stability!!!

Look at the picture at the top left hand corner of this page!

That is all you need to know about how a true professional acts when their job and professional pride are at stake.

Been there, see that. It happens.

give a f***? Be honest.

Watched Ball on the pitch while Bridge was being paraded to the crowd and his body language
said it all. Probably sums up the rest of the players who know they are going to lose their first team place or know they have no future at the club.

If I knew somebody was coming to replace me at work, I probably wouldn't give a f***, knowing I had no future.

Just a thought.

You are absolutely right!

I you want another example, just look at City last spring. Sven built his team as a collective as he always does. When it was clear to everyone that Sven would be replaced, the collective failed miserably.

(Or i you want to put it in a individual way; Sven knew he would be replaced and he failed miserably.)

I'd show a bit of professionalism and self respect and do the fucking business, especially if there were thousands of people watching
