If any top quality players become available (Torres, Villa) then they will be going to United, Real, Barça or Inter. They can match us financially in terms of splash-out signings and are far bigger clubs. The likes of DDR is the kind of player I see us signing if we get CL football.

If they were in the Champions League I would seriously consider it but it would be dependant on who had signed for them previously before me and who they were in negotiations to sign. There would be no harm in talking to them and seeing what they have to say, you can always turn their offer down, even if your current club chooses to accept their bid. These world class players do not need the extra 00000's on their contract, they're already multi-millionaires. It is more about what they can achieve in the game and for that reason they'd have to be in the worlds most prestigious competition with a superior chance of winning it than my current club. If they weren't in that competition and not competing for trophies then I doubt I would leave my current team for them regardless of money.

Torres is possibly the only one who has. And the reasons for this were he couldn't leave Athletico for Real or Barca and there was a Spanish boss at Anfield.
