Isn't the point of this site so that you can talk about where we need to improve, who's not playing well etc.
It doesn't mean just because you say something on here that you shout it at matches, at the game you support the team, no point in doing anything else. Some people do get a bit embarassing at games but on here I don't see the problem.

The continual falling back on the excuse of "its a football forum, its about opinions" is bullshit. Similarly, disagreeing with someone and instead of saying why, insulting/abusing them doesnt really make this whole forum lark work either.

All these threads popping up about attitude/conduct etc are completely relevent; theres a difference between a differnece of opinion and simply slagging off.

I know myself and Didsbury Dave have mentioned it before, i'm sure theres many others, but saying you disagree with Mancini's formation because of "X, Y & Z" is one thing. Saying; "we should beat Hull, we didn't; Mancini out, clueless clown" isn't an opinion. Its a statement. Its fuckwittery.

Come back from the game and look in the matchday thread. Look at the threads after a loss, look at the opinions on our players; one week we're going to win the league the next were lucky to be in this division... thats not passion or heat of the moment its melodramatic idiocy.

Its great that we've got so many posters on here and so many opinions... but the way people think thier own opinion holds more value, or the way civilised debate has made way for one liners and abuse its all a bit of a pisstake really.

i agree, however last few games have been quality. me and my mates have had a mint time probably because we've stopped taking everything too seriously. hull away was jokes and the south stand banter was pretty good on tuesday too. it's all about finding the right group of fans that are just up for a laugh. love city hate football.

You're bang on the money. I had a disagreement with someone the other week who said "At least in division 2 we got behind the team and were all blues together". Did we fuck. It got so nasty that the Assistant Manager wrote a column in the MEN berating City fans for their negativity.

And the other myth is that Maine Road was this seething couldron of noise.

Just like COMS, it only was for the big big games.

Nothing's changed, the stadium's just bigger.

Very true !! We've always slaged off our own players at City. Remeber when the team had to warm up on a training pitch at Platt Lane just so they didn't hear their names being booed when they were anounced before the game!!
Remember a certain right back in tears!
Bloody hell,I even remember one game when Gareth Taylor was brought on as a sub and everyone around me burst into uncontrolable laughter!!

Lets put this myth that we are the best fans in the world to bed right now,we're starting to sound like those silly Geordies!!

Atmosphere is most definatley related to performance and vice-versa.

Hamburg home last season...City had a right go and the atmosphere even at 0-1 was amazing...It lifted the players visibly...Everyone was up for it that night and all the fans got behind City..As the game progressed and we improved so did the atmosphere until it reached critical mass and scared the living crap out of thier squad.

Games here this season where the atmosphere has been great...Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U...and we won em all.

Liverpool, Spurs and Villa will be great atmospheres too...you just watch.

Getting up for the likes of Bolton, Blackburn( no disrespect to those teams) etc etc is something we have to work at as fans just like the players do too.

Everyone pulling together is what we need at the matches...so have your moan, move on and get behind the team.

I remember myself at the Hamburg game turning to the lad next to me as we gifted them the first ..."Typical f@ckin city..here we go!!"
60 secs later I have forgotten that and am singing my head off again as the Blues launch an attack.

I think most fans are behind the team and that on our day we can create the best atmosphere around.

ye but did the south stand make any noise really mate? When I watched it back on the telly it was shocking the atmosphere. Hopefully we can get this blue alliance stuff really goin and eventually with the clubs support have a big block for those who are prepared to sing wether were winnin at the swamp or losin at hull.
