By way of clarity - has this been adopted by Bluemoon as it has been adopted by 31 countries out of 195 in the world as well as 130 councils in the UK and the CPS? Important that we know so that definitive guidelines of what can and cannot be expressed in posts can be consulted. Some posts have sailed close to the wind recently so I think confirmation or not would be helpful.

Not every organisations has though

I don’t think this is very helpful is it.

I think this is exactly to the point - has Bluemoon adopted it? There has been a clamour n here for Labour to do so ( though still the Tories don't and are not pressured oddly ) - I think posters have the right to know whether we are at liberty should the occasion arise to criticsze Israel and / or its Government or will that result in a BM thread ban? It would be nice to know beforehand that was all. If we haven't adopted it then fair enough we can criticsize the State of Israel and not be automatically considered anti semitic. This genie is out of the bottle in so many areas of life now.

However the IHRA definition does not prohibit criticism of the actions or policies of the government or organisations within the State of Israel so feel free to criticise away.

There's actually been some very poor reporting in the media about this issue where the main message that comes across is that you can't criticise Israel but when they discuss it with knowledgeable people, it comes out that it's just not true.

Well we don’t judge all Americans by the words and deeds of Donald Trump.
The same rule should apply to Israel.
It’s when people start questioning the right of Israel to even exist as a nation that’ll land you in hot water.

The definition has not been adopted by 31 countries, it has been adopted by....

Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania, Austria, Germany, Israel and the United Kingdom.

So one cannot be critical of the actions taken by the UN in 1949 to create a state by ignoring the wishes of the people living there? I wonder if this would get the go ahead today.

Not getting tnto this as it seems a thread covered in jezza one

But I will ask if spitting image was making this sketch now would it be slammed by MSM?

I’m assuming that the UN, at the time, saw it as the best remedy.
You never know. One day, in the future, Scientologists may want a place to call home where Tom cruise and his pals can bounce on mattresses and call it levitation without fear of ridicule.
