I don't think a few on here realize how good of a player he is to be a backup midfielder. Just about any team in Europe would kill to have someone like Ilkay come off the bench.

Said it many times this season and will say it again. Just don't see what he offers us. Maybe it's his injuries who knows but he just doesn't do enough and has the movement of a glacier. I'd honestly sell him in the summer and get a replacement in. He's a shadow of the player he was in Dortmund.

Would rather see Yaya get games in instead of him. Both are equally ineffective at closing down, but one is capable of scoring screamers and has balls of steel in decisive moments.

Sorry to say, but I've lost faith in him today, which is a shame coz when he came I thought he'd be ace. Not everything works out sadly.
