Ilkay Gundogan - 2017/18 performances

Seems to be the number 1 scapegoat this season.

Unfortunately, he was asked to play out of position in the most difficult game of the season and in a side where NOBODY played well. I agree that he was poor last night, but let's not get carried away.

There were worse performers on the night.

I don't think he's a scapegoat, injuries have made him like he is,but to not put a performance in and make Milner and Henderson look like world beaters, questions will be asked

Great player but he was deployed incorrectly last night. Far be it from me to criticise our manager, but it looked as though we'd taken a decision to not use a true right winger without putting enough thought into what we'd do instead. Left Gundogan looking a bit lost and now a prime target for those who need a new scapegoat with Sterling left on the bench.

Not really sure what was expected of him last night. Easy scapegoat because Guardiola left him out to dry.

I don’t think he is a scapegoat. However, there is a pattern emerging that he doesn’t do the business when he/the team are up against it

On top of that, I don’t think he’s that good. Nothing against him, he seems a nice bloke, he’s just not up to it

He's had one(Barca) maybe 2-3 good games for us.

That's it.

By contrast, Javi Garcia had more than that. Mangala had more than that. Fernando had more than that.

He's had plenty of chances and the club has gone above and beyond showing patience.

Needs moving on.
