he is more suited to high tempo direct play. i was always disappointed at him for going MIA most of the time and not offering himself to the ball carrier. Truth is, he is not your typical possession retention guy, he is more suited to the quick 1 2s and throught passes. That was to see yesterday, in the first half the play was slow and he was a passenger, but as soon as we raised the tempo he shined like a diamond
 
Hard to be too critical at Gundo. He's had barely enough time to play in the last 3 or so years. I'd love to see if he could develop and be a reliable option behind KBD and Silva

Pretty much agree with this - Gundogan is pretty terrible at moving into space if the defense cuts off passes. He excels in an open game, where he doesn't need to move to receive the ball. His forward passing is incisive - and he's got a shot on him, threatening to score if not covered.
 
Stupendous assist for the 2nd goal, there's not many players around today who could pull that off. He is going to be a key player in this half of the season, has great composure in critical situations.
