Just lacking consistency, some days fantastic, others a little anonymous. Will find it tough to dislodge Silva/KdB/Dinho from that midfield, anyone would though.

Looked far more comfortable once the human wardrobe had been taken off - Gundogan likes to receive and distribute the ball quickly which is impossible with Yaya demanding a pass then constantly playing it back to possibly the worst distributor of the ball in the team - Mangala. Kept going tonight and will be fine.

Not had a 9months of premier league experience yet. History should tell us not to judge so quickly yet we still do this time and time and time again. KDB was awful this time last year, Gundogan has the ability, give him the time he needs FFS.

Even in our own box late in the match, lacking any confidence in his worldclass abilities.
Has always been his problem, lack of confidence and sharpness.
Ask Dortmund and Germany.

He certainly has been missing some receivers of his ideas without Sergio, and Leroy being a sulking passenger for most parts of the game.

If we play a 3-5-2 when Mendy comes back could we see a midfield 3 of gundogan,de Bruyne and Silva? Could all three play together?

You won't see much of him since he plays these cup games without the strongest XI. He doesn't get consistency in playing and not being able to play the strongest XI and building a chemistry it'll be a little hard. At the end Silva/de Bryune are just too good, so he'll keep playing bit part role.
