I know we want him to play as well as possible, but it just baffles me how quickly some will talk down a player after a 'not great' performance. He was playing with Yaya in midfield...the lad would start for just about every team in the league, if not every single one. His best performances for us have come in some big games because he plays very well when he's surrounded by class players. I'm far more interested to see how he plays when he replaces Silva or De Bruyne in the lineup rather than when he plays in the same side as Yaya, Mangala, Danilo, Bernardo, Bravo, etc.

The noticeable thing about Gundo is that he drives forwards with the ball. I think this is his first move, same as KdB. Attack the first line of parked double deckers!
Wasn't his best night. Didn't help that he had the most shots during the game with not one of them on target. 5 shots with 3 off target and 2 blocked, how many time did he kick it into row z?

Domestic cups only for this lad, he cannot play against the bigger teams that press and test us, he just doesn't have the balls. Absolutely invisible today and it really cost us. There were players much worse; Aguero, Fern, Stones, but we needed him to make his presence felt and he fell flat. So so flat.

That's bollocks though because he had his best games against Spurs and Napoli, two of the most intense pressing teams in Europe, and undeniably huge games.
He's not fitting into the midfield at the moment, he certainly wasn't good today, but to say he can't play against big teams suggests your memory doesn't go back 3 months.
